Our nation’s roads, from lazy suburban streets to bustling interstate highways, exist for the benefit of everyone – and as such, all road users have a responsibility to obey traffic laws and otherwise conduct themselves in a way that does not create unnecessary danger for others who share the road with them. For most of us, this is an intuitive and obvious fact: don’t drive recklessly because you might hurt someone. Unfortunately, some drivers choose to ignore this fundamental societal agreement, using public roadways as an arena for illegal street racing.
